As a child abuse survivor I felt doomed by the trauma symptoms that overwhelmed me. But I was determined to heal. It’s been a lifelong quest that led me to become a healer. I became a Marriage Family Therapist while raising my children with my husband. I have been providing individual, couples and family therapy now for 17 years.
I help people feel seen and validated, sometimes for the first time in their lives. I get to be a guide to my clients on their path of healing. I am an EMDR and trauma trained Marriage Family Therapist. As part of my treatment I provide psycho education to explain why and how we wound, and provide tools to aid in recovery.

I grew up in an environment where the adults around me, including my own parents, repeatedly taught that sexual contact between adults and children was not only acceptable, but good. I was told that if I resisted, felt afraid, or experienced shame, there was something wrong with me, that I simply wasn't "evolved" enough to understand.
But no amount of indoctrination ever changed what my mind and body knew.
It never made the pain disappear.
Alcohol and drugs were common in my environment and eventually became the way I survived each day.
At eighteen years old, by what I can only describe as a miracle, I got clean and sober. I found a community that valued my safety, respected my boundaries, and never attempted to normalize or excuse the abuse I had endured.
That was the beginning of a new journey.
Over the years, I searched for the language, the science, and the clinical understanding that explained what I had always felt. I studied psychology, became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and trauma therapist, and devoted my career to understanding trauma, healing, and helping others heal alongside myself.
The science confirmed what my heart had known all along: children are never responsible for sexual abuse. Our brains and bodies are designed to recognize violations of safety, even when adults attempt to convince us otherwise. Trauma responses are not evidence of weakness, they are evidence that the nervous system is doing exactly what it was designed to do: protect us.
Today, I stand as both a survivor and a therapist.
I believe healing is possible. I believe truth matters. And I believe every child deserves to grow up knowing that their body belongs to them, their voice matters, and abuse should never be normalized, minimized, or justified.
Advertising Works. Let's Use It to Protect Children.
One of the greatest lessons my life has taught me is that repeated messages shape beliefs.
Every day we are surrounded by messages, sometimes in our own homes and often through media, entertainment, social platforms, schools, communities, and culture. These messages influence what people come to believe is normal, acceptable, and even desirable. Social norms, however, are not the same as truth. They are not always healthy, and they are not always good.
I know this because I lived it.
As a child, I was repeatedly taught that abuse was love, that exploitation was healthy, and that my discomfort meant there was something wrong with me, not with the adults harming me.
That wasn't education, It was indoctrination.
No matter how often those messages were repeated, they could never erase what my nervous system already knew: I was not safe.
Today, neuroscience, developmental psychology, attachment theory, and trauma research explain why.
Children (0-18+) cannot consent to sexual activity with adults.
A child's dependence on adults is not consent.
Normalizing trauma does not eliminate its effects.
Repeating harmful messages does not change the biology of the developing brain or nervous system, nor does it erase the psychological consequences of abuse.
Children deserve safety, protection, and adults who safeguard their trust, not exploit it.
Attempts to normalize child sexual abuse do not prevent harm. They increase confusion, silence victims, and make it harder for children, and later, the adults they become, to recognize abuse or seek help.
The science continues to affirm what survivors have known all along: children require safe, attuned relationships with trustworthy adults in order to develop in healthy ways. Violating those relationships has profound psychological, neurological, developmental, and relational consequences.
If repeated messages can normalize harm, then repeated messages can also cultivate truth, safety, healing, and protection.
That is why those of us committed to protecting children must become just as intentional in communicating truth as others have been in spreading harmful ideas.
As Warrior Healers, our responsibility is not only to help people recover after trauma but also to help build a culture that prevents it.
We need clear, consistent messages grounded in science, compassion, and human dignity.
We need stories that replace shame with hope.
We need education that equips parents, teachers, therapists, faith communities, policymakers, and communities to recognize abuse and protect children.
We need media that reminds every child; Your body belongs to you. Your voice matters. You deserve to be safe.
Healing one person at a time will always matter. But changing culture matters too.
Advertising works.
Stories work.
Culture changes through repeated messages.
So let's repeat better ones.
Let's create media that protects children.
Let's teach what healthy attachment looks like.
Let's replace shame with truth.
Let's build systems that protect children before they need to recover.
That is the message worth repeating.
My mission is to help survivors reclaim their lives while also helping build a world where fewer survivors are created in the first place, a world where trauma is understood rather than minimized, where children are protected instead of exploited, and where no child is ever taught that abuse is love.
A warrior survives what should never have happened.
A healer transforms survival into hope, truth, and protection for others.
I strive to be both.
My mission is to help survivors reclaim their lives while working to create a world where children are better protected, where trauma is understood rather than minimized, and where no child is ever taught that abuse is love.
